| One of the Museum of Anthropology's (MOA) goals is to continue working with First Nations Elders, artists, educators and students on the development of low cost, low tech research and exhibit instruments that can be transferred to educational institutions, cultural centres and small museums. |
An example is the idea of "sourcebooks" now used by commercial designers as well. A number of prototypes are on display in the Great Hall at MOA.
Sourcebooks are made up of photographs, maps, quotations, the combination of which create a visual story that is easy to read, transport and duplicate.
|
Production also requires students to learn computer design, techniques, and issues of copyright and representation.
Many of the sourcebooks have been and will be developed with First Nations residents and interns on subjects of importance to them.
