We are proud to announce that the MOACAT development team (Nancy Bruegeman, Skooker Broome, Carol Mayer, Ann Stevenson and Jennifer Webb in conjunction with Sivia Sadofsky and Rory Matthews) have received an Honourable Mention from the UBC Library Innovative Dissemination of Research Award Committee. This award recognizes members of the UBC community who display innovation in creating new methods of communication or knowledge dissemination. This year, only four nominations were shortlisted for the award so this is a significant achievement for those who contributed to the success of MOACAT and its companion Collection Online website.
MOACAT and Collection Online are databases that provide access to thousands of objects in MOA’s collections. MOACAT is available on touch-screen workstations within the galleries and the Audrey & Harry Hawthorn Library & Archives. We welcome you to visit MOA to see how MOACAT animates the surrounding display cases to reflect what is within view. You’re also welcome to try out the
online version, Collection Online, which is freely available and searchable by name, culture, artist/maker/donor/collector, place, and timeline.
The team’s work on the development of MOACAT and Collection Online will be recognized and showcased on cIRcle, UBC’s Open Access information repository.
