MOA is filled with energy since the June 19 opening of two exhibits: Inuit Prints: Japanese Inspiration and Faces and Voices of the Inuit Art Market.
This energy has inspired lots of discussion about the relationship between the objects featured in the exhibits and the art in our Shop, where you can
find items such as inukshuks, carvings, and prints – like those in the two shows – for sale. One such print is by Kenojuak Ashevak, the artist behind the famous “Enchanted Owl”. Titled Wisdom of the Elders, this colorful print is charming and intriguing.
Many people play a role in the Inuit art market, from the artist, to the dealers, collectors, purchasers, auctioneers, and curators. Want to learn more? Come down and experience the art market in action!
