Singing while using sign language is a fun way to learn a new song, or a new language, and have a great time with your family and friends! This year MOA welcomes Beetle Banter, a musical duo of Maya Graves and Olivia Shaw. They will be accompanied by Natasha “Courage” Bacchus—an athlete and performing artist passionate about deaf advocacy, fitness and physical expression—who will teach participants how to use their hands to speak the names of animals using American Sign Language. Together, they will make you sing, smile and celebrate nature and being alive.
Suitable for children ages 5 to 12.
“Sing Along-Sign Along” is part of Kids Take Over UBC, a full weekend of Family Day programming taking place online and at various locations across campus. Learn more and register for all the Kids Take Over UBC events.
*Please note: “Sing Along-Sign Along” will be recorded and published online. Children and participants may also be featured on the Kid Cam as part of the larger UBC weekend of activities. For those who do not want to be featured, please turn your cameras off during the program.
