About MOA
The Museum of Anthropology at the University of British Columbia is world-renowned for its collections, research, teaching, public programs, and community connections. It is also acclaimed for its spectacular architecture and unique setting on the cliffs of Point Grey.
To extend our role as public and research institution, we have embarked upon a major expansion project, intended to create unprecedented opportunities for research, teaching, and public enjoyment. The project as a whole is scheduled for completion next year; the official launch date is January 23, 2010, so mark your calendars now! Until then, we invite you follow our progress both onsite and online, and to join with us as we create a new Museum for the new millennium.
In honor of the Museum's first Director and Curator, we dedicate these pages to Dr. Harry Hawthorn and his late wife, Mrs. Audrey Hawthorn, respectively.
