People of Islam
"O people! We have created you from a male and a female, and made you into races and tribes, that ye may know each other ..." Qur'an 49:13

During our lifetimes we will meet a tiny fraction of the more than six billion people in this world. If you stand here for one minute about 250 babies will be born, and if you wait for an hour another 15,000 will arrive. They will be born into diverse cultures, in distant lands and at nearby places. They will practice different faiths. One in five will be born Muslim: these will practice Islam, a religion and way of life based on peace, submission and obedience to God (Allah).

The people in these photographs are Muslims who may never meet each other, yet they are connected by shared Islamic beliefs, principles and values.
